Just curious ![]()
I currently have a staffy mix, an australian shepherd, and a schipperke. I do conformation showing (obviously not with the staffy mix!), and agility and obedience competition with all three.
One day I am DEFINATELY going to own an australian cattle dog, along with the schipperke, they’re my favourite breed! Intelligent, willing to please, active, loyal to one person, good guard dogs. I will also definately own another schipp
)
There are plenty more breeds I say I’d love to own, however I don’t know how thats going to work out
)
Akita Inu – not an american one, the japanese one. They’re not yet a reconised breed in australia, however they are loyal, intelligent, one person dogs who are just so beautiful. Overseas there are dogs that compete in agility too.
Chow Chow – Although not agility or obedience dogs, they are so noble and beautiful. Although they’re cat like and independant, I think it would be a good challenge. They’re loyalty to one person also gets me!
St bernard – I love the giant breeds, however most are just too hairy! A smooth coat st bernard isn’t too bad for me, and I love their calm, docile disposition.
Saluki – They are such ellegant, and beautiful dogs. Definately a challenge to train, but would be fun doing it. They seem like affectionate couch potatoes at times, however their whining/howling could get frustrating
)
Gosh, I could go through a dog book and find so much more! However I’d love to take a break from conformation showing and go down to the local shelter and adopt a dog suitable for companionship and agility again. It was fun doing that many years ago when I adopted Cherry the staffy mix!

Oh wow! the dog breeds that i’d love to own…Don’t we always wish for something that we know full well we can’t have, or would be just too unpractical? Anyways…along with the wish list.
At the moment i’ve got a cross Huntaway female. She’s actually got all sorts of working dog breeds from her mother’s side, Huntaway, Border Collie, Blue Heeler and eye dog traits. And I love her to bits, she is just awesome pup! <3
BUT having a German Shepherd, St. Bernard, Border Collie, or a Siberian Husky. Of course I know full well that Husky’s can be horrible to train, and if not trained properly can be a death sentence. My family have previously owned one, and she could get very naughty, and very territorial. however she was a lovely dog, that saved my life once. I think it is once they get older that they pick up bad habits…This is the breed that is bottom of the list…the part that I know i’ll never have!!
Border collie’s are just adorable. My pup’s mum shows a lot of Border Collie traits, and was an awesome farm dog in her peak. However would love a purebreed(they are amazingly expensive!). Not for working, but a general companion dog..
All of my dogs would be companion dogs. I don’t do showing, and am unable to train them to work stock etc. But any dog of mine would be the perfect companion,
Although. I know i’ll never have the privialage to purchase one of these dogs from a breeder…I find it better, and nicer, to go to the SPCA and adopt a pup, or a nice dog…Crosses arn’t bad, (esp as not for showing, agility etc) and would be the perfect fit. However my pup at the moment is the perfect dog that I hope to have for many more years…
Hands down all time favorite breed I would love to own would be the Dogo Argentino,why do I like them,they’re gorgeous for one and I would love to have a dog like that in conformation showing,there also said to be a cheerful breed,who couldn’t use some cheerfulness in there life,LOL:)The probability of me ever owning one are slim to none though.
For now I’ll stick with my current breed of choice which is the BC:)
I always wanted a rottweiler, I think they’re beatiful dogs, but i’m really thin and small so I wouldnt have the energy to handle one. So my next choice is doberman. I think they’re elegant and noble. Another dog I would want is a german shepard – they seem like they are alot of fun, and all the g.shepards i’ve known were very kind and gently, but at the same time watchful and obedient.
currently own a black tan kelpie X blue healer(australian cattle dog)
)
favorite breeds…
Dalmatian
German shepherd
Shiba Inu
Husky
Malamute
Samoyed
Australian shepherd
English shepherd (my nanna has one
Kelpie (red cloud and black and tan)
Pomeranian
pappillion
Doberman
miniature pinscher
Jack Russel
many man more lol i wonder if i will get to own all of them
How about a afrikan azawakh dog. I live on the prairies and one of these running dogs would be ideal out here if the MINUS 35F* Winters didn’t kill it.
Old English Sheepdog, West Highland White Terrier, or English Bulldog.
The first two is because: SO FLUFFY I’M GONNA DIE.
And bulldogs are just badass.
Saint bernard.
They are beautiful dogs and are good with children but VERY big, lol.
german shepherd for me. grew up with one and she was an amazing dog. love them. and also a jack russell. so cute.
I love Collies of all sizes. They are good watch dogs, they are great family dogs, loyal to a fault with lots of heart and love!!! They are also very Intelligent!!!
I like Dobies. Especially the black and tans, the blues and lilacs. They are very elegant guard dogs and everyone I’ve met I’ve fallen in love with. They are very intelligent and got great personalities.
Never had a Kerry Blue Terrier but they are beautiful and supposed to be quiet and laid back for a terrier.
I love Pomeranian for small dogs. They are adorable. Especially the red or the goldens. They are sweet and not nervous for a small dog.
Pappillions are cute and perkey and very smart little dogs.
