I prefer to train my dog myself-however if there is a part where I am weak in training I will ask for the help of a professional dog trainer that is strong in the areas where I am weak.

Professional trainer as in sending my dog to be trained by them alone, or the trainer coming to my house to help me train my dog?
Personally I prefer myself. From experience the dog listens to commands better when the person who actually worked with them and trained them gives the commands. Besides, why waste money on some random person when it’s not actually too difficult to train my own dog? I also would not love if *my* dog bonded with my *trainer* instead of *me*.

Neither; find a dog training club and sign up for classes. You teach the dog under direction from a more experienced dog owner. it’s great fun, it also helps socializing the dogs, and it’s less expensive.

Myself with the help of a professional trainer. But I’m not sending my puppies off to be trained by someone else. I need to know how to continue the training and handle the dogs also.

I train my dogs myself. I don’t have the money for a professional trainer, and I know how to teach my dogs the basics: sit, down, stay, come. And then some extras: high five, shake, speak, quiet, stand, spin.

I have always trained my dogs myself. If you don’t feel confident in training yourself, there is nothing wrong with going to a professional trainer.

If you have to ask you probably do not know enough about training so go pro or at least semi-pro pet store group classes.
