<a href=""title="" >Alright…I’m 17 and absolutely love dogs and dog behavior. I always knew I wanted to have a career that’s either creative (artist, photographer or musician) or animal-related (behaviorist, veterinarian, etc.)
I cannot imagine having a career that doesn’t involve dogs, I’ve been intrigued by them since I was 7 years old, and I know so much about them.
However, everyone has always told me that to be successful you should go for something that requires higher-education schooling, so I always thought that I was going to be a small animal vet, go to a university for several years, open up my own practice, and yada yada. But I don’t really want to.. I just don’t feel motivated enough to go through all of that work to become a vet. I’m good with handling blood and surgery and all of that, it doesn’t bother me, and I find the medical field to be interesting, but I can’t see myself doing it.
Dog training and psychology is so fascinating, dogs are like no other species with their ability to understand people, and it’s amazing! Dog training combines both my love for animals and creative art, as well as that bit of science that I crave. The only problem is that dog trainers’ pay isn’t so hot… usually around $20,000 to $30,000 a year. But I don’t want to be stuck at Petco as an obedience trainer all my life, I really enjoy traveling and would like to learn as much as possible about dogs – so behavior, psychology, training, therapy, massage, nutrition, and I might even train dogs for film and entertainment. Luckily I live in Florida, where trainers make the most money out of any other state according to 2009 labor bureau census, and I could always move up to Atlanta (dog training seems popular there.)
So, I feel torn. What should I do…become a dog expert in the training field or aspire for a career with a better, more stable salary?
Thanks so much
One of my favorite teachers once told me “just do what you love and the money usually follows.”

Now my house is in the woods with few more neighbor houses and about 20min from the city. Coming from a big city in CA it was scary enough. And recently I was getting the mail and found a very disturbing letter someone put in my mailbox. I reported it to the police and now am looking to adopt a dog. Having no experience with dogs need some answers like:
What are the disadvantages of owning a dog?
How to train the dog?
Will it protect my family? (I heard that dogs reduce break ins)

<a href=""title="" >I was pulled over today by a sheriff for no apparent reason. traffic was nearly still and it was a straight road, so i didn’t run a stop or light, nor was i speeding. They then asked me to step out of my vehicle and searched me, and then seated me in the backseat of their car. Afterwards, they told me they were going to search my car and did. I did tell them the car was my older brother’s (which it is), but other than that i didnt mention or present myself in a suspicious manner. i was extremely polite and calm but felt humiliated as every passing car was watching. is there anything i can do about this? As far as i’m concerned i know they can’t search any vehicle unless they have reason to. Oh and i should also mention one of the Sheriffs was clearly in training as his partner was explaining the entire process to him and what to do. I also heard the main sheriff explain to him they stopped the previous car for it’s F****N tires, and mine for its custom exhaust (mind you the exhaust doesn’t make any loud noises or anything of that sort, or doesn’t look fancy or anything like that. it just looks nicer than the stock one). Any advice as to what i can do? I just don’t think it was right to search my vehicle and i when there was nothing suspicious. Oh and they did not even give me a reason as to why i was even pulled over, other than my bumper looked like it was coming off a little, and i did not receive a ticket or a warning of any sort.

<a href=""title="" >My dads bull mastiff dog has always been rowdy and hard to control, jumping on people and stuff. also when walking I’m told that he’s even once carried one dog 10 feet because it tried to attack him. But now I’ve gotten a 10 week German shepherd female puppy and I’ve been hesitant of introducing them, because I know about his bad behaver, but it was eventually unavoidable. We introduced them a couple of times through the fence and the the bullmastif took it well, but when we went on a walk together, he seemed more agitated but neither the puppy or the mastiff seemed to upset so we continued on, thinking they’d get used to each other, they even smelled each other and were alright, the puppy wasn’t afraid at all, mostly interested.
the trouble came when we where walking and my dad patted my puppies head, all of a sudden the mastiff turned and attacked the puppy, snarling and barking and even biting her (he had his mouth over her, but we pulled her out of reach at the last moment), becoming very hard for even my father to control. How can we teach this mastiff to accept her and play nice? (he’s never been good at knowing his strength) is there anyway to make it more acceptable to him? he is not my dog and my dad already spends hours with him. is it a matter of training the mastiff? or is there something else that could be done, because my dad has tried some training, and not much seems to work.

On December 14th, I’m moving to Antarctica (home of the greatest walruses). I’ve already cut off my arms, and now slide on my stomach everywhere I go as training.
Make an appeal to the scientific community. I just know they can help me, but I have no way of getting in touch. I have witnessed your compassion for the minorities who have been persecuted by society. I feel like I’m all alone in this, I need your help!
I may not be a walrus yet, but I promise you if you give me a chance and the support I need, I will become the best walrus ever.

<a href=""title="" >Ok well she really likes the dog, he plays fetch and is really playful. He’s pretty little and has short little stubby legs. i want to keep the dog inside because i think it would be really cool to wake up in the morning and just give him food and water, and have him follow you around, instead of having him outside and going out there to feed him and play with him. Plus, i feel more comfortable with him inside because i live in Southern California and right now its really cold and rainy some days then turns really hot other days. So i don’t wanna be looking at the dog in his little house all scared and cold and wet. I’d rather have him inside and warm. S whenever i ask my mom if we can have an indoor dog she always says no because he might pee on the furniture or tear it up or ruin the carpet. but he is a little breed dog and he cant do much damage if we’re watching him. I’m also willing to clean up any pee stains he leaves on the carpet. So How Do You Think I Should Convince My Mom? And If She Lets Him Inside Does Anyone Have Any Tips On Inside Dogs? And How Can I Get Him Potty Trained. (P.S. Sorry my question was so long, and my grammar was off, i just woke up)
