im a pretty tall person(idk how tall, idk pay attention to that) but next school year i wanna really tryout for track, i really love running, ahhhh! man i remember when i was in gym we had to run a mile, i was always first of the girls, and 2nd of the boys(im a girl) but now ever since we switched classes ( right now im in bio tech and chorus) i haven’t been running, could that effect my running? idk right now i have some big thighs, not like big big, just big, will that effect my running? i haven’t been running for a while, i race with my brother from time to time( yeah i always win! gets beaten by a girl!!) but anyways i really want to know some exercises that can help my running, i think my running is failing on me idk, but i haven’t been practicing, ever since i switched classes i stopped running and stayed inside, anyways track tryouts are in….10 months to 11 months, ok don’t tell me there’s nothing to worry about! since i have like a year! but i really want to practice practice practice!!! and then when its time, ill be ready! so if anyone out there can help me out how to get faster, or just go a longer distance( i can run a mile without stopping) i would be grateful, and also whats exactly is a sprint??? people used to call me grass hopper legs, because when i jump a long distance my legs like stretch out like a grass hopper, but i don’t get it, but anyways thx a lot im a girl so yeah…

Oh for Pete’s sake……
You said it yourself. Practice, practice, practice. You DO have a year.
You say you haven’t been running – will that affect my running? Of course, it will. Anything you don’t do for awhile – takes time to get back to being good at.
So you need to make a schedule for these things and stick to it. And practice, practice, practice.
There is no magic potion or fairy dust to make it all come without that.
Go talk to the coach for tips.
Talk to the coach, they probably have an off season program that you can do so you can hold up to the training once the track season starts.
