I am highly devoted to becoming an actor but I always find myself slowing the process down. I am 15 years old. When I get my cast off in the next three weeks, What can I do to actually start? I know for sure I am not become a famous person over night, I am very aware that might not even happen, but that is not why I want to become an actor. I took theatre last year in high school and did fairly well, always participating in nearly every classmates play. There are no outside theatre classes so high school is where I get most of my training. I love acting, the reason why I am doing it is because I know it is a job I can do for the rest of my life. My mom is willing to put me in stunt classes/acting lessons in LA. I live one hour away from Hollywood LA. When I get my cast off, what can I do to get a head start in this career?

If you know people who are involved that could help but let me warn you through experience, be careful of those acting classes. Alot of them you have to pay for and they don’t necessarily keep you around…just want to take your money. Make sure you research where you take your classes at and see if any actors evolved from the acting company. Look online at casting calls in your near area and apply for them…If they are interested they may set up a interview for you. Goodluck, hard work and perserverence pays off!
Look on google on maps type in acting classes *insert your are here*
1. Do more community theater and get a professional headshot and resume.
2. Look on Craigslist.org, Mandy.com, actorsaccess.com, castingnow.com and http://www.greenroomla.com for open auditions for short films and student films.
3. Look at the local colleges film department and ask about where they post their upcoming student film auditions.
4. Take film and theater classes. Film classes are usually in their own offices and buildings and theatre classes are usually funded and taught at local theaters.
