Why Is It That Every Man And His Dog Trains In Some Sort Of Martial Art?

By admin Posted in: Dog Training

Every person i meet has either told me they box kickbox or do some other form of martial arts and tell me how good they are.
I’ve kickboxed for 4 years and boxed for 2 I haven’t fought in the ring yet, but over the years of training i’ve got respect for what I know and what I can do.
Plus why is it that when people know you fight, they try and start fights with you

Hear me out on this – if you disagree with my intitial comment you’ll not see the point I’m making.
Although kickboxing, MMA and the like are great disciplines, they are not arts. Even a lot of traditional arts like karate and taekwondo are often taught as sport and the importance of the art is diminished. There’s definitely not necessarily anything wrong with that and I’d argue it can be a good thing: if you take away the decades of discipline and commitment required to master an art the sport becomes more accessible to people.
I suspect that is why martial arts and combat sports are becoming more common. They are more accessible so people take the opportunity to learn.

You aren’t the only person on the planet. Because you have been training for 4 years does not give you seniority over anyone else or make you special. I’ve been training for 15 years. There are people on here who have been training for over 30 years.
    Get over yourself.
